Before and After

I promised some pictures! Well, I like to refer to my home as my cardboard city. And for entertainment I have added a pic of Kurt with his new eyes. He bravely had laser surgery done to his eyes today! BRAVO SWEETIE! I was fortunate enough (or not so fortunate) to see how they do it. Jeez, luckily I'm not squeemish!

Thought for the Day - Achieving Balance

I figured that concidering how upside down everything is for us and how extremely busy we've been that it's time to pause.

Thought for the Day - On Movement

"...In order to live fully, it is necessary to be in constant movement." - The Zahir (pg 201) Paulo Coelho

"When you are moving toward an objective," said Petrus, " it is very important to pay attention to the road. It is the road that teaches us the best way to get there, and the road enriches us as we walk its lenght."

"And it's the same thing when you have an objective in your live. It will turn out to be better or worse depending on the route you choose to reach it and the way you negotiate that route. - The Pilgrimage (pg 36) Paulo Coelho

And who says packing is hard work?

We started this morning on a rather slow note as the sleep seemed to evade us still. My one cup of coffee didn't give me the kick I needed, but soon there wasn't time for waking up. There was a house to be packed!

The packing went very well on day 1. And HOW exhausting. To say the least, the packers are amazing (I guess that's why their slogon is "Elliotts is amazing!). It's unreal to see how they wrap and pack. Just like Speedy Goncales (sorry can't be bothered about spelling). BUT since the packing wasn't my concern, I need to explain the reason for my exhaustion. Well cleaning and sorting at the speed they pack, well that's something else. Typical Virgo, I want everything clean when it's packed. Nevermind that it WILL get dirty with the unpacking again.

I'm not going to bore you with any details and it's taking me triple the time to write this as my spelling and tense mistakes are atrocious - DAMN VIRGO. I'll post some pics tomorrow (as I left the camera at home - yes it's still my home).

Cheers!

welcome to our little chat spot

Welcome to our little chat spot!!!!

Kurt and I have been running like chickens without heads to get everything sorted for our "BIG TREK." Our move from Durban (SA) to Onchan (Isle of Man, UK) has been running smoother than well-greased clockwork and we're truly grateful for all the "non-Gremlins" and "non-spanners"! Unfortunately that means for some that we are leaving SA, many great friends and family behind. Thank you to those who have been keeping us in their prayers (even tho' I'm sure there were a couple of eyes rolling upwards and hoping (and praying) we don't leave) [well I hope so at least].

We're going to use this blogspot to record our exciting and marvolous Journey. Not only will it keep you in the loop, but we hope (and heaven forbid, we'll hunt you down and torture you!!) that you will use this to keep in touch with us. We'll post as many pics as possible (blogger.com permitting) and feel free (that means "pretty please") to send us snapshots of yourself as well.

That's it for now! Enjoy and take care....

I need a drink!

Last night was the first of many uncomfortable and restless nights in the flat (5 Ile Coco, Umhlanga). I would've LOVED to sleep in my own bed, my own pillow and without a DAMN light shining into our bedroom window. I quess we'll have to get used to this and rather sooner than later. *Sigh*.

At least the view is making up for it. Here is a pic for you guys to see. Anyway, hopefully some of you will come and have a drink while feasting your eyes on the cool and calming waters.

We managed to make it back to the flat after trying to get a grip on all the crap we've got. Imagine being caught in a big, square sinkhole in the middle of La Lucia. Well Kurt managed to escape its terrifying and ruthless claws with a mere wipe of the forhead and a "I want to go for a snooze." In my case I had to fight my way to safety, just to be incinerated by the scorching heat!

I wasn't expecting an entirely awake husband, but I didn't expect him to close the bedroom door leaving him in a cool and comfy slumber while leaving the rest of our matchbox of a flat on fire! I NEED SOME VINO!!!!!

Growth - Ferrucci (1982)

"Growth is understanding what we have not yet been able to conceive; feeling what we have never felt before; doing what we have never done before. It is daring what we have never dared. It may not, therefore, necessarily be pleasurable. It obliges is to leave our comfort zone, to progress into the unknown, to face the tremendous inpact of the Self."
