Cherish 2009

All things come to an end as with everything in life. And so did Cherish 2009. Oh WOW! What a fantastic weekend this was. Apart from the shopping-fun we had, rotten foundations were broken down, new foundations were laid and seedlings were planted. There is one heck of a forest growing as we speak.

God is ever faithful and He will restore hope where hope is lost. He will heal the broken hearted and He is the Author of our wildest dreams. Looking back, I cannot help but to notice how tangible His presence was. He w.a.s. there! He w.a.s. sooo there.

Whilst there are so much sadness in the world - and I have never been more aware of the sadness that is in the heart of God - I have never experience such joy! It sounds pretty crazy, but sadness and joy can work hand-in-hand. They can cuddle up against the walls of your heart and live in harmony. In fact, I will go as far as to say that it is almost a prerequisite for changing the world. Knowing how these two can compliment each other is one of the many many bits of wisdom I have gained from this weekend. James 3 talks about worldly wisdom vs divine wisdom. Let's hope this is divine wisdom. I have been praying for it long enough! ;-)

Growth - Ferrucci (1982)

"Growth is understanding what we have not yet been able to conceive; feeling what we have never felt before; doing what we have never done before. It is daring what we have never dared. It may not, therefore, necessarily be pleasurable. It obliges is to leave our comfort zone, to progress into the unknown, to face the tremendous inpact of the Self."
